gingerbread man hoop art ornament tutorial

Hi! My name is Alicia, the newest contributor for Daft Crafts! I am a shop owner and you can see my creations at Zeeuh & find me blogging at How Charming, Zeeuh!

I am a crafting fanatic! And obsess over all things Christmas! Put the two together, and I just feel--- complete!

So if any of you are like me, then you too like to go all out for this time of year.

Today I'd like to share with all you daft crafters My Mini Embroider Hoop Ornament.

3 in. embroidery hoops {Got a set of 3 at my local crafting store for only $1.50!}
Fabric Glue *for the non sewers ;)

If you happen to be familiar with my shop then maybe you've seen my latest apron. I used my scrap fabrics from that for this tutorial. Since they are gingerbread men I chose brown felt to make lil gingy men. ;)

So first I drew him out on paper to be my template

I used my template to cut out the felt. Then you simply sew your felt onto your fabric. For sewing machines, I would lift the pressure foot and pivot my way around. If you don't want to bother with the machine, you can use a thread & needle and stitch him by hand. Or for the non sewers you can just glue him on with fabric glue! {I highly recommend Aleene's Fabric Fusion}

When you have your felt attached to your fabric, place the fabric on top of the bottom wood hoop, and then put the top wood hop on top of fabric. Tighten screw, tie a ribbon on top, and you are done!
Wasn't that simple!? And frugal?!

I also had red stripe fabric and sewed a red heart on to it. Great for Valentine's Day too!

I find this tutorial to be a great go-to gift for anyone on you list! Teachers, co-workers, neighbors, the possibilities are endless!
