with doll my heart - a heartfelt handmade fundraiser

Ashley's daughter, Stella
When Ashley's daughter Stella was born, she had a small hole in her heart. The tiniest imperfection in an otherwise perfect newborn. Her issue was minor. Just a tiny heart murmur needing a couple cardiologist appointments (At Intermountain Primary Children’s hospital) during the first year of her life to monitor it. In November 2013 Stella's family received the incredible news that Stella's hole in her heart had closed and that Stella would have no long term effects from this disorder.

Having experienced the worry of being a parent to a child with a heart condition, Ashley has worked hard to put together a creative fundraiser through her shop, Penelope's Eclectic Closet, by creating twenty-eight handmade dolls, which she will release one day at a time each day in February, with 20% from each doll being donated straight to Intermoutain Primary Children's hospital, which performs more than 10,000 outpatient visits per year and more than 20,000 diagnostic tests per year, including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms and cardiac MRI.

These Heart dolls have the same charm as Penelope’s Eco Friendlies (dolls made from scraps of Penelope Original Dresses to keep extra bits and pieces out of landfills) but have a sweet little heart sewn to their chest to represent love & heart health awareness. The dolls will be released one a day, every day this month in Ashley's shop. You can use the links below to connect with Ashley and you can contact her with any questions at  Penelopeseclecticcloset@gmail.com.

If you would like to support this fundraiser without purchasing a doll, you can donate directly to Intermountain Children's Primary hospital here.
